Boutique Rural Cabin Photography & Website Design
Set on a quiet rise in Marotiri’s farm country, The Farmer’s Rest is a rural cabin stay defined by soft light, open horizons, and the gentle rhythm of everyday farm life. For this project, I created a full visual and digital identity that reflects the stay’s calm, understated charm — combining Airbnb photography, interior photography, drone imagery, and website design into one cohesive story.
Captured almost entirely in natural light, the imagery leans into a modern editorial photography style — honest textures, warm tones, and compositions that highlight the simplicity and beauty of a boutique farm stay. I chose a lifestyle model, the visual narrative unfolds like a slow weekend escape: morning coffee on the veranda, reading by the fire, barefoot moments in the open-plan cabin, and the late-afternoon glow settling across the Waikato countryside.
In the lead-up to the shoot, I collaborated closely with the owner to refine the aesthetic direction. Subtle interior styling— layered linens, curated rustic décor, warm timber tones — elevated the feeling of the space while keeping its farmstay charm intact. Outdoors, drone work showcased the wider landscape: sweeping paddocks, rolling hills, and the privacy that sets this Marotiri accommodation apart.
The final phase of the project was the website build, designed to mirror the slow, grounded experience of staying at the cabin. Clean layouts, earthy palettes, and editorial imagery anchor each page, supported by SEO-rich copywriting crafted to enhance visibility for terms like farm stay Taupō, rural cabin accommodation, and boutique Airbnb NZ. A direct-booking flow was integrated to help the owner shift from third-party platforms to a stronger, independent online presence.
The result is a cohesive, design-led identity — positioning The Farmer’s Rest not just as a place to stay, but as a thoughtfully curated boutique escape. A retreat for travellers seeking New Zealand farm experiences, warm interiors, and the restorative stillness of rural life.
